I’m the Offender

At my Swahili class I learnt about how to order in restaurants and things having to do with food and restaurants in general. I tried to describe the below, shelter-ish places where you can buy food, as I wanted to know if there is an actual word for them. My teacher was confused and really could not grasp what I was talking about. Luckily I had my camera with me, so I showed the photo and my teacher looked at it, smiled, looked at me, and then he said “but that is a restaurant!”.
